Who Makes Walmart Great Value Almond Milk?

If you’ve made a trip to Walmart recently, you’ve likely seen their unique brand “Great Value.” Along with many other products, the Great Value brand has their own selection of almond milk. While this milk seems like a great deal in comparison to other name brands, you may be wondering who manufactures it?

Unfortunately this question is hard to answer as Walmart does NOT list the place of manufacturing for their almond milk. However, it is likely either produced at Walmart’s own plant, or by their partner corporations Conagra or Sara Lee.

This is a possibility, however it is likely not a large enough facility to produce almond milk for all of their locations in the county. 

However, products manufactured by Conagra and Sara Lee are often labeled using the Great value brand, which means they could be manufacturing Walmart’s almond milk as well.

The only place we can claim that Great Value almond milk is produced for sure is in the United States.

It is not produced out of the country, however, it's not clear what specific state or city Walmart's almond milk comes from. 

Walmart’s dairy plant is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

If they are doing almond milk production there, it is likely that they are supplying stores in Indiana and nearby states with almond milk from their own plant. 

If Walmart is partnering with ConAgra or Sara Lee, or perhaps an additional corporation that is less well known, it is much harder to pin down where the almond milk is produced. 

They may be partnering with a different non-dairy processing company as well.

The fact is that Walmart does not list where their almond milk is manufactured, however, rest assured that they do perform quality checks and fulfill their promise of provisioning an affordable, high-quality almond milk. 

How Much Does Walmart Great Value Almond Milk Cost?

Great Value almond milk is competitively priced in order to edge out its other non-organic competitors. 

A 64 ounce carton of Great Value almond milk only costs $2.36.

This price is the same for all of their almond milk options, including unsweetened, vanilla, unsweetened vanilla, and chocolate.

You’ll see many of these ingredients included in all of the other almond flavors as well.

Great Value almond milks are not organic, and they also include quite a few preservatives and emulsifiers.

Great Value Vanilla Almond Milk

The ingredients of the Great Value vanilla almond milk include:

These ingredients are almost identical to the unsweetened almond milk, however it also includes cane sugar and vanilla flavoring. 

Great Value Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk

The ingredients of the Great Value unsweetened vanilla almond milk include:

• Filtered water, almonds, calcium carbonate, natural vanilla, sea salt, potassium citrate, sunflower lecithin, gellan gum, vitamin A palmitate, vitamin D2 D-alpha tocopherol, and vitamin E

These mirror the ingredients of the vanilla almond milk, except for the exclusion of any added cane sugar. 

Great Value Chocolate Almond Milk

The ingredients of the Great Value chocolate almond milk include:

• Filtered water, almonds, cane sugar, cocoa processed with alkali, calcium carbonate, natural vanilla, sea salt, potassium citrate, sunflower lecithin, gellan gum, vitamin A palmitate, vitamin D2 D-alpha tocopherol, and vitamin E

Finally, our last list of ingredients is fairly close to the vanilla almond milk ingredients, with the added cocoa. 

If you’re wondering what cocoa treated with alkali is, this is simply another way of saying dutch-processed cocoa that has the acidity level reduced.

It is a method of processing where the cocoa solids are treated with alkaline in a way that removes its natural bitter-taste and gives it a slightly darker color. 

Great Value Almond Milk Nutritional Facts

Now that we know all of the Great Value almond milk ingredients, we will look at a comparison between their nutrition facts. We will only be addressing a few major nutritional facts in our chart.

All of the almond milk flavors contain similar amounts of vitamin D, iron, potassium, vitamin A, and vitamin E. 

As you can see, the unsweetened and unsweetened vanilla are the best almond milk flavors health-wise. They contain equal amounts of nutrition and would be great to use as a substitute to traditional cow’s milk. 

The vanilla and chocolate do include more added sugars and have a higher calorie content, however these are still tasty options when you want something a little sweeter. 

Final Thoughts On Great Value Almond Milk

Unfortunately pinning down the manufacturing location of many Great Value products is tough, and almond milk is no different. Although Walmart does technically produce their Great Value products, they partner with other corporations to make their wide selection of goods. 

We can say with certainty that Great Value almond milk is produced in the United States, but a specific location is hard to nail down. 

Wherever it is manufactured, Walmart does do quality checks and you can rest easy knowing that the almond milk you receive has been approved.
